"I own a business and am really stymied about how to use Magi Astrology. It seems like there is never a good day. Business can't just come to a standstill. What do you advise?"

This is a common question that I hear and it is easy to understand. Magi Astrology can greatly increase business success, but lots of people get tangled in knots when they try to figure out how to apply it to day-to-day business.

The most important way to use Magi Astrology for business success is to choose super-powerful days for important new beginnings. This would include business incorporation, the formation of LLC's, acquisitions, opening dates, release dates, the opening of corporate bank accounts, the hiring of key management personnel, crucial first meetings, signing key contracts, etc.

The second most important way to boost your business with Magi Astrology would be to avoid the very worst days for new beginnings. This would include all the previous activities mentioned, as well as first-time phone calls, any first meeting if possible, employment dates, signing leases, and any other first-time activity.

These first two things are fairly easy to accomplish. You can hire a Magi Astrologer to choose dates for rare and pivotal activities, which must be super days in their own right, as well as super days for you personally.

For worst dates to avoid, you can consult the Magi Days section of this quarterly newsletter.

and you can also consult the Magi Society monthly best and worst days list.

Please note that days on the two lists do not always match up. Not only do we use slightly different parameters, but their list shows best and worst days for 14 important activities every single month, and their picks are RELATIVE to the other days in that month. The Magi Days I publish are notable days one way or another, but I don't try to choose a best day for everything every month. Draw from both lists as feels right to you and ALWAYS factor in your personal best and worst days based on your own transits.

For my corporate clients, I put together personalized calendars of best and worst days for months in advance and they use their calendars as a guideline- doing as much as possible on the best days, as little as possible on the worst.

I encourage you to use Magi Astrology when you can- research shows that it can boost a business into the stratosphere. At the very least, use Magi Astrology to avoid the worst days for important activities, and you can still reap important benefits in your business.

    Magi Days Fourth Quarter 2007
Using the principles of four-dimensional Magi Astrology, these are noteworthy days- either positive or negative. Be aware that these are general predictions, and may be improved by, or worsened by, your personal transits.  The single simplest and most powerful way anyone can use astrology is to avoid universally bad days for new initiatives.

Oct. 10- 15 are days to avoid for any new beginnings with the Saturn/Chiron contraparallel in geo reaching its peak. A t-square in helio with Venus, Neptune, the Sat/Chi midpoint and a major business planet makes these days to especially avoid for important business initiatives.

Oct. 18-19 Jupiter on the 18th and both Jupiter and Pluto on the 19th trine Earth in helio make these some of the better days in Oct.

Oct. 20-22 Sat/Jup and/or Sat/Chi midpoints to Sun in geo and/or Earth in helio make these poor days for any new meetings or enterprises.

Nov. 2-3 I don't care for the Saturn/Vesta/Venus yod in helio and recommend avoiding new meetings.

Nov. 13-16 Disgusting trans-dimensional t-squares with Sun or Earth, Juno, Sat/Chi, Neptune, and a major business planet make these days to absolutely avoid for anything important in business. Watch those financial markets, too!

Nov. 20-21 Better days for business and financial affairs during this lovely yod formed by Earth and Venus with Jupiter & Pluto at the apex.

Dec. 5-7 Venus and Ceres have joined the fray and those nasty t-squares from mid-November are now a helio grand cross. DO NOT natalize in business or finance- we could even see some financial instability now.

Dec. 14 Saturn "heads" north again in geo bringing back the universal Saturn/Chiron contraparallel in geo through 1/22/2008. This is again a time to avoid when possible for for new beginnings.

Dec. 21 is fairly good for things that must be done in Dec.- a triple Sun-Jupiter-Pluto conjunction with Sun-Jupiter parallel makes an aspected Sun-Jupiter eclipse which is great. However, Sat/Jup trine Earth and Saturn contraparallel Chiron in geo aren't great, so this day, though relatively good, still isn't all we'd like.

Quarterly Predictions for each Zodiac Sign for October - December 2007

Birthdate ranges shown may vary by a day or so either way. Be aware that these are general predictions, and that a detailed analysis of your personal transits and progressions will always show much more pinpoint accuracy. As in all predictive columns, this is written based on the Solar House system. If you know your Ascendant (Rising Sign) read that section as well as your birth sign. I attempt to write these predictions for all degrees of each sign, however, your own Sun and Ascendant may be anything from 0°-30° of a sign. If these predictions seem way off, your Sun or Ascendant may be at the extreme beginning or end of your sign. In that case, check out the predictions for the sign immediately before or after yours and you may find a closer match. (If you are a Pisces, check out Aquarius and Aries, for example.)

Aries- Mar 21- Apr 20:  Routine matters are likely to give you more pleasure and satisfaction than you might expect during the fourth quarter. Much of your focus is outward, as you devote your energies to advancement as well as friendships and philanthropic pursuits. Travel could be interesting, and you may find yourself changed by new experiences. Despite all the hustle and bustle, take some time to ponder the deeper mysteries of life. At some point during the quarter, your home life may become stirred up and less peaceful than usual. This may last a month or two; patience and avoidance of unproductive spats will get you through this temporary time.

Taurus- Apr 21- May 21:  Vigorous pursuit of legal tender will occupy you much of the rest of 2007. This is all good as long as you sidestep any monetary disputes that crop up. Later in the quarter, use care in your choice of words as you could be excessively inflammatory. Relationships will be a focus of your attention whether you are committed or playing the field. Either way, expect to be charmed but don't nurture far-fetched illusions. You still may find that your home life is fairly weighty- things should lighten up by early 2008 if not sooner. Some long-awaited career stabilization is on its way. Expect partner's finances to be strong.

Gemini- May 22- Jun 21:  Stick to tried-and-true methodology to get things done right- new innovations might not deliver the results that you seek in actual practice. Temper any abrasive tendencies early this quarter- soon you'll turn your copious energies toward income generation. If you haven't already done so, soon you'll be entering a phase of career change which can breathe new life into the stale corners of your outermost world- just don't expect things to be predictable. This should be a sweet and supportive time in long-term relationships, though you will still see your partnership in a state of ongoing evolution.

Cancer- Jun 22- Jul 23:  Committed Cancerians most likely are enjoying loving times with their partner; single Crabs may want to keep their shell close by and their skepticism intact as all that glitters is definitely not gold this quarter. This is an excellent time to renovate the basic tasks and routines in your life. You have been craving change, and any changes implemented now are likely to be very positive. Financial innovations may not seem like a good idea- avoid a tug-of-war over this issue if possible and be highly realistic especially concerning the finances of others. Any anger you've been suppressing may well come out as the quarter progresses- be appropriate in your expression of it.

Leo- Jul 24- Aug 23: Any tendency you've had toward being stuffy or over-controlling should fade during the fourth quarter. Be prudent financially- don't squander assets that you need for security. Dating Leos could meet a person of real substance this quarter- especially during personal Cinderella cycles. Leos in long-term partnerships may enjoy both romance and excitement if they can let go of preconceptions. If friendships are a little rocky, just give people a little room and check a possible tendency toward sharpness on your part. If your home life seems a bit out-of-focus, time will handle it later this quarter or early in 2008.

Virgo- Aug 24- Sep 23: This should be a time of primary focus on home and family, though you will likely be working fast and furiously in your career too for at least the first part of this quarter. Though your domestic life will likely remain in an evolutionary period for some time, there should be smooth enough sailing through the fourth quarter that you can count this as a positive. Strive for clear communication and full disclosure, as it would be easy to be misunderstood or to seem deliberately misleading. You will likely be especially attractive and charming but avoid pomposity late in the year. Time-tested methods are best when you want to get things done.

Libra- Sep 24- Oct 23:  As the quarter progresses, you may find yourself quite busy at work despite the holiday season. You are feeling both creative and playful and may be able to use these energies successfully in a useful way. Your communications now can be both helpful and transformative to your audience. Your home should still be under happy stars. Whatever investments you are considering should be held to the most stringent standards and every detail should be fully investigated. Friends could be a bit disappointing or at least time with them could be curtailed; not many new friendships are likely to be forthcoming this quarter.

Scorpio- Oct 24- Nov 22:  Finances are looking quite promising now- the only real caveat in that area is the small possibility of a financial dispute of some kind. Career rewards are still in the offing and your continued efforts will eventually pay big dividends. Although seemingly impossible, you are even more magnetic than usual this quarter. People may project onto you a great deal, so be sure they are not reading more into things than they should. At home, staying grounded is the key- the possibilities of an over-idealistic attitude and/or sudden changes could create confusion.

Sagittarius- Nov 23- Dec 22:  You could be quite the wheeler-dealer this quarter, while still making many more friends than enemies. Career cash flow should be favorable and your ability to charm employers, clients and customers is strong. You are both witty and creative now in your thoughts and communications. Committed relationships could be in an uneven stage lasting a couple of months- during this time there is a tendency for real blow ups over trivia that seem ridiculous in retrospect. Talking things out with good friends will help. No matter what, in the privacy of your own thoughts tell yourself the truth- self-deception is a real possibility now.

Capricorn- Dec 23- Jan 20: Monetary tugs-of-war are best avoided by careful planning and clear agreements; even so, any new or unusual ideas of yours will likely be met with disinterest or disbelief. New horizons opened up by either learning or travel will be quite enjoyable. Keep things up-front with all friends, and scrutinize potential new friends carefully. You continue to have a gentle and caring persona that is quite appealing. Privately or subconsciously, you may be making ambitious plans. Avoid unimportant disputes with your beloved later this quarter.

Aquarius- Jan 21- Feb 19:  Your current fanciful and unpredictable outward persona is welcomed by some but may perplex or unsettle others- especially your partner. Be patient with those who just don't get it yet and give them time to see the light. Career matters could be hard to understand, or you could be misunderstood by others in this sphere. Strive for clarity. Business and friendship may mix with profitable results. Income from a partner or from secondary sources could be pleasant. High energy in the realm of creativity, play, and social events is likely; avoid arguments with children.

Pisces- Feb 20- Mar 20: Any lingering tensions at home should have dispersed, or will do so soon, and committed partnerships should be enjoying sweet times. New insights and "gurus" many not stand the test of time and you could even end up quite disillusioned. At times, grinding your way through daily tasks is the only way. A certain subtle restlessness or "unquiet" in the back of your mind may require conscious efforts at centeredness to dispel. This could be a time of major success for you career-wise- don't hold back any efforts to take things over the top. Good times with kindred spirits nourish the Soul.

    Sisters and Rivals

Several times recently I've observed a phenomenon which has often puzzled me in the past- the way many women can be so intent on sizing each other up. There seems to be an immediate and intense need to categorize an unfamiliar woman- to place her status-wise relative to the self. Watching the play of thinking and emotions on someone's face as this process is unfolding- and ultimately observing the final verdict being reached- or the consternation which develops if a verdict is difficult to reach- is a very interesting study.

Women assess each other on a variety of levels. Part of the area that I live in is afflicted with creeping high affluence, and so the sniffing process (dogs are so much more direct- this really is very primal stuff) which I see there seems to hinge on the observation of beauty, body, grooming, youthfulness and the quality of "work" that has been done, clothing and handbag, jewelry, car, home.

More widely, a woman's status has been correlated to her career, her degrees, her income, her husband, her children, her cooking, her hospitality and creativity as a hostess, her "godliness", her obedience, her virginity, her adherence to the values of her community, her philanthropy, or the spotlessness and sheen of her kitchen floor. No offense intended, but between Hugh Hefner and Martha Stewart, not too many women have strong enough internal resources to feel good about themselves.

Paying more attention to this whole phenomenon has led me to really ask myself: Why are so many women threatened by each other? Why have we been raised to see each other as rivals?

Historically, there has perhaps been in most societies a survival need to compete for resources, including the protection and food provided by a good hunter. That was very real then. I think we have to ask ourselves-- in this day and age, is the maintaining of competitive mistrust really a survival behavior for women now?

Holding oneself away from meaningful contact with our sister humans is a particular tragedy for women. To generalize, women seem to have greater needs for close connection with others than do many men. For the most part, only another woman has the interest and patience to dissect "what he/she said/did/didn't say/didn't do" and determine all possible meanings and the best course of action.

Women, especially in childbearing and child-rearing years, also need more help, support and understanding. Most women raising young children- especially those living far from their own families- would practically kill for the network of grannies, aunties, sisters, cousins, and older girls that a tribal woman could draw upon for knowledge or simply another set of loving hands. And no one can really understand what an all-nighter with a vomiting child can do to the next day's work performance like another mom.

Part of overturning the old way of operating is making sure we are safe for our sisters. This means no dirty looks, no cattiness, no gossiping, no condescension or dismissiveness, no picking each other apart, no making jokes at another's expense. No flirting with someone else's date/partner. None. Live the Golden Rule.

How we choose to raise our daughters will be the major force in how this behavior carries forward into the next generation. What we DO that they observe will carry so much more weight than what we try to "teach." It's one thing for this behavior to exist in middle school and something else entirely for it to continue into the adult world.

Of course, jockeying for position is not confined just to women among Homo Sapiens. Among many men, we can see the role that power, money, university or club affiliations, fast cars/ big trucks, big biceps, and big weaponry play in determining status. Humanity always seems to set up hierarchies, and the feeling of being superior to others fuels many vastly tragic patterns, such as racism, nationalism, and religious persecution, to name a few.

To spin this out a little further... there are genetic ramifications to a species' choice of values. When highest status is accorded to warriors- the most competitiive- the best players of the materialism game- we ultimately as a species are breeding for ruthlessness and beauty- not necessarily the traits that allow a species to spiritually evolve. In some cultures, the highest value was and is placed on being a scholar, a person of sterling character, and/or an earth mother, but of course, scholars, sterling characters, and earth mothers have had disastrous encounters with warrior types throughout history.

Perhaps there really is no solution- or not an immediate one. But maybe, just maybe, we can begin to turn the tide- to overturn the hierarchy mentality little by little- to reclaim our sisterhood. We can begin now to rekindle a sister spirit among ourselves and reap the many benefits. It's really not too hard: Look for commonality, not differences. Most women (really most humans) have similar needs, hopes and dreams. Don't compare yourself to others. Be nice. Make a new friend. Smile at someone you've never met. : )
