Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris – Smokin’ Heat, Lack of Balance & Heartbreak
Taylor and Calvin had major heatfor each other, along with moderate caring and some real ability to hang out and have fun together. So what happened? First, though they generated lots of heat together, Taylor and Calvin weren’t really that sexually compatible, nor were they wired up to remain attracted to each other forever. Also, Taylor was much less attached to the relationship than Calvin was, yet she was strongly in control of it.
This created a real
lack of balance
– not only was Calvin more involved than Taylor in the relationship, but he was also much more likely to get his heart broken than Taylor. It’s dangerous when you are
more attached and vulnerable to heartbreak
in the relationship, and the other person is less attached AND in control.
You can see all of these in the Potential Scores Recap from Taylor and Calvin’s Love-Stars Complete Relationship Report at right. This makes it easy to understand why Taylor reportedly broke up with Calvin by phone – it just wasn’t that important to her and she probably didn’t fully get it that Calvin may have felt differently.
I will also point out that just because a person is more involved or more vulnerable still doesn’t mean that person has the relationship skills to be a good partner – this is dependent on the person’s character and level of awareness rather than on the relationship dynamics, though a relationship can influence a person toward or away from being their best.
It’s also unsurprising that Calvin had no Cinderella Cycles and was in 2 Heartbreak Cycles – with 1 Heartbreak Cycle peaking – when Taylor announced their breakup on June 2. And to add to Calvin’s woes, another Heartbreak Cycle peaking late in June led to his modeling contract being dropped by Armani just a few weeks after the breakup – Heartbreak Cycles affect your career too. Here’s hoping that both Taylor and Calvin find new doors to happiness opening soon!
