Does Mercury Retrograde really turn things upside down?
Maybe yes. Maybe no.
Certainly social media is full of people who are positive that the computer glitches and miscommunications they experience during Mercury retrograde are CAUSED by Mercury retrograde. It’s very chic these days. And of course, the popular advice is, “never sign anything during Mercury retrograde.”
But does anyone actually record any data on the numbers of typos, glitches and miscommunications which happen during Mercury retrograde vs. Mercury direct? Just asking…………
Also, what about other planetary retrogrades? Jupiter is retrograde about 3 months a year. Neptune about 5 months a year. And so on. Today, April 11, 2017, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn are ALL retrograde, and Pluto goes retrograde April 20. Why does no one seem to panic during other planetary retrogrades? In fact, there is almost NEVER ONE SINGLE DAY when one of the closest planets to Earth is NOT retrograde.

Mercury retrograde has never been PROVEN to be detrimental. In actual fact, statistical research has proven conclusively that planets in retrograde can actually be MORE powerful and helpful in “natalization” charts than direct planets. DO double-check important stuff, keep your computer backed up and verify plans. These are NEVER bad ideas.
DO move ahead in making decisions and signing important documents IF AND ONLY IF your personal cycles and the quality of the Universal day are both excellent.
DO put Mercury Retrograde-Phobia where it belongs, with the 2012 ending of the Mayan Calendar and Y2K.
DON’T worry. Relax…… Retrogrades are frequent, unavoidable, and can even help you!

If you’re curious about what really causes day-to-day frustrations and problems, keep track over a period of time of glitches and miscommunications during Mercury retrograde vs. Mercury direct. Do so for a year or more so you have an accurate sampling. See if you actually experience more of these issues statistically during Mercury retrograde. You might or you might not.
